Mondays 10AM - Noon @ Homestead

Overview

This activity is designed for women 4.0 and 4.5 skill level players. It is focused on players working together as partners in a competitive environment to achieve success—earning those wins!

The format is tournament style play with pools of teams. Every seventh week, there will be a playoff game whereby the past six weeks’ first place winners from each pool are invited to participate in the playoffs.

Contact Betty Sullentrup @ (636) 346-5811 or bsullentrup@gmail.com with questions.

League Eligibility

  • Must be a resident of The Villages (full-time and seasonal).
  • Must be 50 years or older in the year of signup.
  • Must have a 4.0 or 4.5 PCVG rating. If you do not have a 4.0 or 4.5 PCVG rating, a DUPR rating of 4.0-4.999 with a minimum of 30 games with at least a 60% reliability factor will be accepted. Click here to view more information on the PCVG Rating Clinics.

Participation & Registration

  • Can accommodate 12 teams (24 players) per session. Selection will be on a first-come basis.
  • No week after week commitment. Sign up for just one play date, all play dates, or anything in between.
  • Players will sign up with a partner. Only one person from a team should sign up. Do not submit your registration until you have secured a partner. Also, you will need to supply your partner's email address and phone number, so have it available when registering.
  • The same partners cannot play together two consecutive weeks, nor can they play together more than three times during the current six-week period.
  • Registration for a session opens at 6AM two weeks prior to the play date. Click here to register. Each session has its own Registration Form.

Format

  • This is tournament style play.
  • The format outlined below is subject to change based upon the number of participants.
  • Teams will be seeded and placed into pools using tournament seeding best practices.
  • Players will play each team in their pool one game using regular scoring. Games will be played to 11, win by 1, switching at 6. (Subject to change.)
  • First and second place winners from each pool will be acknowledged.
  • Every seventh week, the first-place winners in each pool will be invited to participate in a “Playoff.” If one of the first-place teams cannot participate in the playoffs or if the same team wins more than once within the current six-week period, the second-place team for that pool's session will be invited. If you play with a different partner in the future and your team earns first place in your pool, then your partner (if she wants to play in the Playoffs) should find a partner from the pool of past 2nd place winners. This information can be obtained from the Pool Champions webpage.

Results

First and second place teams will be recognized. Scores will be not be entered into the DUPR system. Click here to view each week's pool winners. The pool first place winners will be invited to attend the Playoffs.

Policies, Procedures & Guidelines

Code of Conduct

Players are expected to follow the guidelines outlined in the PCVG’s Code of Conduct and the Sportsmanship Guidelines.

Withdrawals, Late Arrivals, No Shows

If your team needs to withdraw from play, immediately email Betty Sullentrup or call (636-346-5811).

Play starts at 10AM. Warmups musts take place prior to 10AM. If a player is absent at 10AM, their first match game will be forfeited. If the player fails to show by the start of the second game, then their second match shall be forfeited as well. And so on for the remaining games.

Players who do not show up to play will be tracked as a No Show. A single No Show will result in not being able to play during the current six-week period. More than one no show will result in automatic removal from all future participation.

Replacement Player

If a player’s partner cannot play, it is the player’s responsibility to find a replacement if they still wish to play. The replacement player must meet the eligibility criteria outlined above. If a replacement player is needed, immediately email Betty Sullentrup or call (636-346-5811).

Cancellations

If a team must drop from the competition, immediately email Betty Sullentrup or call (636-346-5811) so that a replacement team can be secured. Failure to notify of a cancellation will result in a ban from future competition.

Timeouts

Teams are allowed one, 1-minute timeout per game. Hydration stops are allowed as needed. A hydration stop is intended to be a time to take in fluids. It should not be used as a resting period or a prolonged timeout. Medical timeouts are allowed (10 minutes). If a player is unable to continue after their medical timeout, then any unfinished and unstarted games are forfeited.
